Hawaii, Big Island
Hawaii Big Island

MISR took the first three images at different times using its straight down pointing camera.

The last image will be in 3-D if you look at it through red-blue 3-D glasses (put the red over the left eye). It was made by combining the images from the camera that viewed the scene at 60- and at 70.5-degree angles.

In the 3-D picture, you can see the Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa volcanoes poking through the clouds in the center of the island.
